A former Kiambu County Executive Committee member seeking to be a commissioner of IEBC has distanced himself from mismanagement that marred former governor Ferdinand Waititu’s administration. The Senate in January 2020 voted for the removal of Waititu after finding him guilty of three charges which were tabled before it by Kiambu County Assembly. He added that some departments remained guided by the law even when Kiambu County was in the limelight for all the wrong reasons. Kang’ethe further added that they worked for the governor while keeping in mind that they were answerable to the county assembly. “As County Executive Committee member, I was answerable to the governor but the Members of County Assembly had an oversight role.
