WAPO reports that “two GBU-39 bombs were used to strike a UN school in central Gaza today that killed 40 persons, including 14 children, 9 women and grievously wounded 74 others. Bodies of the children were brought to the al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir-al-Balah.” As usual, the IDF claims it was targeting militants. The school was sheltering 6000 internally displaced Gazans, but this fact did not deter the IDF from deploying US made munitions on the site. Despite the continued death and destruction, neither PM Netanyahu nor the Hamas leader, Sinwar, is in any rush to embrace President Biden’s diplomatic off-ramp.
