Former IDEA Services support worker Jean Cowan was justifiably fired after an investigation concluded she likely hit an elderly service user. The judge found IDEA Services' decision to fire her was fair and reasonable. The issues in her case involved two clients, who both have name suppression but are called Mr C and Mr M in Corkill's judgment. That support worker did not notice any marks on Mr C, but a third support worker was told by Mr C that Cowan had struck him. A different support worker said Cowan had no patience, and had also been accused of hitting people in a van.
