ICT sends three policemen to jail over July genocide


The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has ordered three policemen to be jailed in connection with charges of crimes against humanity committed during the July-August uprising. The three policemen are Assistant Commissioner Tanjil Ahmed, Constable Hossain Ali and Constable Akram Hossain. Among them, Tanzil was implicated in the murder of Imam Hossain Taim of Jatrabari, while Akram Hossain faced charges in connection with the killing of an individual named Hridoy in Gazipur’s Konabari. According to Sultan, both of these policemen had earlier been shown arrested in the case brought before the tribunal. “After the hearing in the afternoon, Hossain Ali was shown arrested in the ICT case.
