Stresses creating an entrepreneurial culture in universities to produce job creatorsISLAMABAD: The developed world has achieved phenomenal economic growth by promoting academia-industry linkages and Pakistan should follow suit as well, said Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) President Sheikh Amir Waheed on Thursday. Waheed advised the students to focus on applied research, which is badly needed to resolve key issues of the industry. He also urged universities to give students more opportunities of academic research that could be applied effectively to resolve real world problems. ICCI Senior Vice President Muhammad Naveed said that hard work, honesty, dedication and commitment were golden principles that ensured success in every profession including entrepreneurship. A detailed presentation was also given to the students about the role and functioning of ICCI and its promotion of business community’s interests.
