Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya has assured his supporters that his name will be on the ballot in the forthcoming August polls. The incumbent is facing competition from four challengers the closest being Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale according to recent opinion polls. Speaking to mourners at Muroni Primary school in Mumias East Constituency during the send-off service for the former larger Mumias legislature Hon. In a clear swipe at Mumias East legislator, Ben Washiali, Oparanya dismissed allegations of corruption in his government. Governor Oparanya later played host to NASA (National Super Alliance) chiefs Raila Odinga, Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetangula and other local leaders at a Mega political rally in Mumias West.
