“What I wanted to do was to write the book that I needed when I was 14. I don’t think that’s recognised enough. Before the event took place, Tammy had 40,000 girls registered to attend. “These girls need us more than ever. I hope young girls who read this book might think: ‘That’s exactly what’s going on with me’ and maybe then they can talk to someone about it,” she says.
