According to Mr Freddie Blay, there had been several stakeholder engagements on the referendum which made him confident a consensus had been achieved on the referendum. “I support the call for the referendum to be halted for greater consensus though I am for a ‘Yes’ vote because I have no other choice and it is impossible to achieve a successful referendum because we need a vivid consensus,” he explained. Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show Wednesday, Chairman Blay said the referendum on Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executive election is to serve the interest of Ghanaians. More pressure is being mounted on the government to halt plans to hold the December 17 referendum.
