Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, has insisted he remains the National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers following the reported takeover of its national secretariat by Tajudeen Baruwa. Baruwa had earlier taken control of the union’s Abuja secretariat, citing court rulings said to be in his favour, in a move that has deepened the leadership crisis within the NURTW. The statement read, “The National President wishes to intimate members of the union and the general public that he was not a defendant in the purported judgment. “Alhaji Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya remains the National President of NURTW.”The union leader urged members to remain calm, peaceful and law-abiding, stressing that he remains the National President of the NURTW. Baruwa on Monday took control of the Abuja secretariat of the NURTW, displacing the rival faction leader.
