There’s something I need to know and I can’t think of anyone else to ask: Can you see your nose? I must have been 5 or 6 when I first noticed my nose. Growing up is a succession of discoveries, the main one being that other people already know the thing that you just learned. But no one had ever sat me down and lectured me about this nose thing: “Yes, Johnny, we all see our noses. A sneeze involves your nose — there’s that organ again — but isn’t the entire head one interconnected system?
