“Drag” refers to the artistic expression and performance of drag. That to be feminine was to be pretty, slim, and pale, with a soft voice and coy smile. The performer was Adore Delano, one of the contestants from RuPaul’s Drag Race. For the uninitiated, RuPaul’s Drag Race is a reality television show where contestants compete as their drag personas in a series of challenges to be crowned “American’s next Drag Superstar”. And it’s not limited to drag alone – there is such a variety of incredible queer talent in this country, readily sharing themselves and their art.
