It appears to be the reverse actually as Acting Deputy General Secretary of the ruling National Patriotic Party, Nana Obiri Boahen has indicated his contentment with his ‘place’ in the party. His response to the question of why he is not in government was “I’m the Deputy General Secretary, its good. If you are the Deputy General Secretary of a ruling party like the NPP, it’s a very enviable position. I am comfortable here, in the party office, I’m dong fantastic works for the party, people don’t know”. A very hesitant Obiri Boahen refrained from directly answering the question of whether or not he was paid by the ruling NPP.
