The subject of conflict of interest came up after the appointment of CK Akonnor as a replacement for James Kwasi Appiah as Akonnor was reported to be managed by Proton Sports Services, a company that was formed by Kurt Okraku. “As part of our communications strategy, every national team coach will face the media one way or the other at all times and that includes the head coach of the Black Stars”“I don't manage CK Akonnor or any coach in Ghana. It was a company that I created in England, operated in England and transferred the same to Ghana. It’s important that we always have clear distinctions between advising somebody and managing somebody,” said Kurt Okraku.
