Central Organization of Trade Unions Secretary General Francis Atwoli on Sunday urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to intervene in the ongoing talks aimed at ending the doctors strike that has paralyzed health services in public hospitalsAccording to Atwoli, Health Cabinet Secretary and his PS Nicholas Muraguri are to blame for the stalemate between doctor’s and the government. “There is infighting in the ministry of health and that is why we have been unable to agree on the doctors pay. I urge President Uhuru Kenyatta to intervene and separate the minister and the principal secretary,” Atwoli said. He also accused senior doctors for mis-advising the doctor’s unionists leading to the stalemate. Atwoli pleaded with the striking doctors to accept the offer given by the government and resume duty as the negotiations continue.
