BENGALURU: After causing it much of a headache in Goods and Service Tax (GST) regime, is Bharatiya Janata Party-led central government turning its back on the private lottery players? The income tax (I-T) department's raid on the king of private lottery players in India, Santiago Martin, certainly suggests so. Incidentally, between the two major raids, the tax officials conducted a series of smaller raids and picked up people close to Martin for questioning. "There have been rumours that he (Martin) has been lobbying in the GST council to make it a uniform tax.
