I should pause here to tell you that there’s no one reason I quit the program, but if I had to pinpoint one thing it would be the overwhelming suffocation of procrastination. I kept delaying my decision because actually saying the words “I’m going to quit this program” was just too difficult. Then, a friend of mine started at Digg and needed help, so I started working there. Getting that job helped me fully quit. I could read novels again as an escape.
