The King referred to his mother’s death as the moment he had been dreading during his first audience with the prime minister. Liz Truss was the last prime minister to meet the Queen before her death on Thursday. Cameras were then present when Truss met King Charles the following day, hours after he returned to Buckingham Palace after being with his family and his late mother at Balmoral Castle in Scotland. In recordings of the introduction between Truss and the King, he said: “I mustn’t take up too much of your time.
