It explained that six out of 10 Ghanaians (59%) say the country is “going in the wrong direction.” The share of citizens who see the country as “going in the right direction” declined by 15 percentage points from 2017 to 35%. Everybody tells you we’re not okay at all, we know we’re going in the wrong direction and yet for you to find hope for good things to happen in that wrong direction, it tells you that somebody is painting something wrongly. “I am one of the 59 percent who thinks that the economy is going in the wrong direction, in fact, the state of governance is bad,” Mr Nketia emphasized. Further touching on the state of governance, he lamented about the seemingly defunct democratic principles in the country. He stated for a fact that all the democratic principles in the country are not working.
