The Kilifi man will be forced to bury a banana trunk after his wife's body went missing. According to the Mijikenda, a grave cannot remain empty for a long time as it will spell doom for the community. "We will conduct prayers with a priest before moving to the graveyard to bury the banana trunk," he said. He, however, said had left everything to God because their efforts to locate the missing body have been futile. After the burial ceremony of the trunk, the family will spend three days in mourning and then slaughter a goat as the tribe's customs dictates.
