SRINAGAR: In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and human rights organisations, while expressing concern over the framing of murder and other fake charges against the Kashmiris, have termed the move a handiwork of the puppet administration to ruin the career of the youth. This concern was expressed in response to the indictment of 17 youngsters by a Srinagar court in fake cases of murder, rioting and robbery in connection with the lynching of a police officer at Nowhatta in Srinagar, earlier this year. The court announced the order after hearing the counsel of the accused Nazir Ahmed Ronga, and the public prosecutor. On October 6, the police had filed a charge-sheet in the court of the Srinagar chief judicial magistrate (CJM) against the 17 youngsters. Srinagar’s CJM committed the challan of 17 accused to the Srinagar court of principal district and sessions judge for trial, who later transferred the case to the fourth additional principal district and sessions court.
