"In the first half we played really well, built a lot of pressure," Crusaders captain Kieran Read said. The Hurricanes then parked themselves inside the Crusaders half throughout the second spell, exerting pressure from which they forced errors and scored three more tries through Willis Halaholo, Callum Gibbons and Beauden Barrett. Few had given the Hurricanes a chance of winning, let alone of lifting a bonus point on the Crusaders' home ground, but they displayed a ruthless streak in a dominant second half. The Hurricanes started the match under immense pressure, especially at scrums but scored two tries against the run of play to take a 14-10 lead to halftime. The Crusaders now face the prospect of playing their quarterfinal next week in either Australia or South Africa.
