Florida officials have warned that Irma could be worse than Hurricane Andrew that devastated South Florida in 1992. It was the second Category 4 hurricane of the season to hit the U.S., after Hurricane Harvey hit the Texas coast last month. Lixion Avila, senior specialist with the National Hurricane Center, said it is extremely rare to have two Category 4 storms hit in one season. Irma is forecast to move up the western coast of Florida hitting cities like Naples, Fort Myers and Tampa with strong winds and dangerous seas.
