Hurricane Florence Flooding: Torrential Rains Continue In The Carolinas


Joseph Rushmore for HuffPost Sharon Langley returned home to gather a few belongings after being evacuated as floodwaters rose early Friday morning in Washington, North Carolina. Washington sits along the Pamlico River, about 100 miles northeast from where Florence made landfall, and is no stranger to flooding. Large portions of town were inundated as the storm surge from Florence pushed water upriver and the area was lashed by heavy rain.
