Kiwi Mark Hunt is set for a historic hard-hitting clash against American heavyweight Derrick Lewis in Auckland,While "Super Samoan" Hunt appears past his best, the Sydney-based veteran will be making his first UFC appearance in New Zealand, the fight said to be scheduled for the Vector Arena on June 11. The 32-year-old Lewis, on a run of knockout victories, wanted to fight the South Auckland-raised Hunt who was smashed in his last outing by Alistair Overeem, and Hunt still needs a medical clearance. The first UFC Fight NIght was held in Auckland in 2014. Lewis won by a knockout over Travis Browne in February, his fifth such victory in his last six fights. Hunt's last victory was a knockout victory over Frank Mir in early 2016.
