Hundreds of minors drown enroute to EuropeFrom AHMED ZAYED in Tripoli, LibyaTRIPOLI, (CAJ News) – NO less than 600 child migrants have drowned while attempting to cross the Mediterranean to Europe. This is half the number of children that have perished or reported missing during crisis since the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) began collecting data in 2014 through the Missing Migrants Project. “Obtaining better data could help to reduce such tragedies in the future,as well as help families to identify their loved ones,” Black said. Migrants, mostly from Africa, use Libya as an entry to Europe. The North African country is plagued by violence and insecurity, with no unified government and several armed groups.
