Hundreds of job seekers lobby newly elected Senators, Reps

Hundreds of job seekers including pregnant women took over the lobby of the Senate and House of Representatives soliciting for employment as the lawmakers resumed the first plenary session. Majority of the job seekers were legislative aides of Senators and members who failed to secure return tickets back to the National Assembly during the last general elections. Aside those occupying the lobby, over 80 other job seekers were seen loitering at the basement of the White House where various financial institutions operate. It was however gathered that some of the unsuspecting job seekers have fallen prey of extortioners who had earlier promised them employment as Secretaries, Legislative Aides or Senior Legislative Aides. Similarly, the scenario played out at the lobby leading to the Senate Chambers during the few hours spent by the Senators.
