Hundreds of forest fire evacuees arrive in London, Ont.


A forest fire in northern Ontario has led 400 evacuees from Wabaseemoong Independent Nations to take refuge in London, Ont. Leaders called for the evacuation of all community members as Kenora 51 fire is burning 20 kilometres north of the community. Scott said he was on his way to London to check up on community members on Tuesday, before flying back home to monitor the situation. He said that under the Ministry of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry guidelines, the Kenora 51 fire is considered "out of control." Community members can return once it has been deemed as "being held."
