Alexis Zornio was just about to start her weekly meditation class at a Burnaby retirement home on Wednesday when nature decided to derail what was supposed to be a distraction-free moment. Zornio said one of the residents came in and excitedly announced she had just seen a whale breaching in Burrard Inlet north of the high-rise retirement complex located in Burnaby Heights, just east of the Ironworkers Memorial Bridge. Residents of a Burnaby, B.C., retirement home spotted a whale breaching in Burrard Inlet on May 13, 2020.
