Human waste purposefully being added to water, observes CJP


KARACHI: Former city nazim Mustafa Kamal and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on Wednesday appeared before a three-member bench at Supreme Court’s Karachi registry hearing the Karachi air and water pollution case. The court had summoned Kamal, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, AIG Karachi Mushtaq Mahar. During the proceedings, the chief justice said that the water situation in the province is troublesome and should be solved soon as it is the government’s primary responsibility to provide safe and clean drinking water to residents. He stated further that human waste is purposefully being added to water. The chief minister will be asked about all the steps he has taken in this regard.”The chief justice also remarked that the judiciary must intervene when the government fails to fulfil its responsibilities.
