Expanding on recent film streaming deals with Disney, Epix, Magnolia Pictures and IFC, Hulu said it will be the exclusive streaming home for upcoming releases from Annapurna Pictures, the emerging mini-studio founded by Megan Ellison. The two companies said the multi-year distribution deal for the "pay one" window, which follows theatrical and cable VOD, will start with two upcoming titles and then apply to future titles. In the official announcement, Annapurna distribution president Erik Lomis called Hulu a "forward-thinking partner" and an "amazing platform." "Annapurna Pictures has developed a well-known reputation of delivering standout, award-winning films year after year. For Annapurna, which started out several years ago facing the perception it was little more than a vanity shingle for Ellison, daughter of software billionaire Larry Ellison, the Hulu deal comes amid a significant expansion.
