Generous donations or the mum flooded in after Jess Agar set up a crowdfunding page that has raised £22,913 - exceeding its target by £913. Jess, who lives in Cambridge, wrote on the page: "Cambridge is a place of extraordinary inequality. Yesterday, on December 23, a homeless woman gave birth to twins prematurely outside Trinity College, the wealthiest college in the city. Whether we are religious or not, many of us will be familiar with the Christmas story of a mother who gave birth to her child in poverty, seeking refuge in a stable. Donors have left comments on the page thanking Jess for helping the new mum.
