When a thicket of weeds is so big that it extends onto the road on one side and across the sidewalk on the other, it’s time for a brushcut. Boulevards that don’t front onto the properties of individual homeowners are the city’s responsibility to keep trimmed; after all, bylaw cops have been known to ticket citizens for not doing the same. But you wouldn’t know it by the enormous weed patch growing wild and free on the boulevard between the road and sidewalk along the East Mall, just north of Talgarth Rd. A reader who lives in the area sent us a note saying the weeds “are far too big for the location. This is a two-lane road with TTC buses, and the bushes overhang the northbound lane too much.
