Hug-a-Bub baby sling maker goes belly up

Hug-a-Bub baby sling maker goes belly upHug-a-Bub has attracted a passionate following, but customers' accolades haven't saved it from voluntary administration. The Australian maker of a popular brand of baby slings and carriers has collapsed into voluntary administration under the weight of mounting debts. Corporate documents show Shahar owns 40 per cent of Hug-a-Bub and co-founder Palmer owns 2 per cent. That prompted the Queensland Office of Fair Trading to launch a campaign to educate parents how to use baby slings safely. While increasingly popular, "baby slings" have received negative publicity over concerns babies can be injured or even killed when used incorrectly.
