What about my insurance policy? In my own case, I decided to travel when the UK Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) said to avoid all but essential travel. It must sound utterly irresponsible to go against government advice and you’d assume I took the risk and travelled without Covid-19 insurance. That might be the case with a New Zealand based travel policy, but in the UK it wasn’t. That’s what travel insurance is for, but are our Kiwi insurers up to speed yet with their policy design?
