Yet job seekers have been targeted by fake posts for positions as a driver for a business called Apex Pharmacy. The JobsAware service, which fights recruitment scams, warns that crooks are targeting people who lost jobs in the pandemic. “Fraudsters are preying on the vulnerabilities of people needing work, and due to COVID there are more people in real need of work and a greater reliance on technology to find that work. “It is feasible that real employers would need identity documents and bank details making these scams believable. “More must be done to protect work seekers and legislation such as the planned Online Safety Bill should be extended to cover platforms offering jobs.”
