Up until this point, we've carefully managed how much lifestyle creep we allow because we both know reversing lifestyle creep is really hard to do. You need to start making strategic choices about when to allow lifestyle creep, and when to avoid it completely. Before you commit to increasing your fixed expenses, you must understand that it's tough to cut back once you start ramping up. These are all fixed expenses... but they're fixed expenses you chose and have control over changing. You can't just decide you'll spend less on your mortgage once you realize you spent too much on your house.
