PhotoLast season, the Nina Ricci woman went on a sultry holiday in South America. “We’re doing a rodeo queen,” explained the hairstylist James Pecis backstage before the brand’s fall/winter 2017 show. For the curls, Pecis used an s-wave technique by wrapping sections of hair around a curling iron in alternating directions while moving the iron down the hair. (Some models with naturally curly hair wore theirs as-is.) He then diffused the curls slightly with his hands and spray mousse, which he chose for its lightness (“There’s alcohol in it, so it dries and doesn’t drop the hair down too much,” he noted).
