Sara Kuhn, 31, is moving from the predominantly liberal Rockville to a smaller, more conservative town in southwest Virginia, and she wanted help learning how to talk to people there. “She said, ‘Mom, go to this workshop and learn these skills so you know the error of your ways,’” Ms. Karpman said. The error of my ways!”Ms. Karpman, like many of the conservatives in attendance, said she feels unfairly labeled racist.
