Let’s Talk (YLT), an online platform for Arab-identifying millennials and Gen-Zers that hosts thought-provoking discussions on issues like race, gender, accessibility and colonialism. Topics covered on the platform range from how non-Black Arab people can be better allies to Black Arab people to whether or not feminism in the Arab world is a man’s issue. “We were creating (a platform) to have these discussions and safe spaces for people to come together and create healthy dialogue and rally together,” Dajane said. Israel and Palestine, a topic many Arab Canadians have long cared about, is one example, and there are many layers to the discussions YLT has in regards to it. And in that sense, I ended up avoiding speaking.”Piraman said YLT gave him a welcoming platform, while also normalizing conversations surrounding disability and accessibility among young Arab Canadians.
