Swan and and Stacey Colino have just released a book on the subject, Count Down: How Our Modern World Is Threatening Sperm Counts, Altering Male and Female Reproductive Development, and Imperiling the Future of the Human Race. More couples are likely to need medical help to have a baby, as fertility rates plummet, Swan says. Plastic wrap on food could be a source of phthalates, which have a harmful effect on sperm rates, Swan says.
