Orange Shirt Day founder Webstad quit her job in 2018 in Williams Lake to work full time on Orange Shirt Day and residential-school-related activities. Still, she says, as she reflects on this day of truth and reconciliation, the reconciliation part is still a long way off. A national Indian Residential School Crisis Line has been set up to provide support for former students and those affected.
