For some in Indigenous communities, those discussions have actually been taking place for decades. Olivia Bowden visited the site of the former Mohawk Institute residential school, now a part of the Woodland Centre under the ownership of the Six Nations of the Grand River Reserve, to listen and try to understand how Canada should move forward in addressing the horrific legacy of the residential school system and honour the Indigenous children that were its victims.
