Donnie had been so taken with the young Noreen that he’d left his girlfriend, Dianne Marks, for her. Donnie and Noreen had met while they both worked at a Quaker Oats development centre in Barrington, Illinois. Even though he had already been divorced once, Donnie didn’t waste time making Noreen wife number two. He told the court that there had been blood inside Donnie’s car, but he’d seen none on the ground. The jury took just three hours to find Donnie guilty of first-degree murder, 45 years after Noreen’s death.
