Boris Johnson was hit by a furious backlash tonight over his offer of a paltry 1% pay rise for our NHS heroes. Telly stars and even a Tory MP think the pay offer is mean. Then PM Theresa May agreed on a 6.5% pay rise spanning three years. Unions are threatening to strike over the 1% pay rise, which adds just £3.50 a week to average pay packets. Our fantastic frontline NHS staff have been treating our loved ones this past year and are instrumental in delivering the vaccine.
