In an effort to provide “the convenience of plastic bottles while limiting the environmental impact, London, U.K.-based Skipping Rocks Lab has developed the Ooho. It biodegrades in 4-6 weeks, which is similar to fruit, and is cheaper than plastic, its designers say. A culinary technique called spherification was the inspiration for the concept, Fast Company reports. “When people try it for the first time, they want to eat it because it’s part of the experience,” Pierre Paslier, cofounder of Skipping Rocks Lab, told Fast Company. “Once you bite a hole in it, you have to finish it in one go,” Paslier told Fast Company.
