Film director Spike Lee used his Academy Award acceptance speech to encourage Americans to vote in 2020 for love, not hate. And while President Trump’s name was not mentioned, he took Lee’s request for increased civic engagement as a personal attack — and struck back. Lee, who has built his career addressing issues related to racism, has directly called out Trump in the past for his racism.
