Dear Liz,I took a great job in June of 2016. It was a great job until April of this year, when my manager left the company to start her own business. It's not that I think Richard will fire me — he's deathly afraid of doing the work without us — but that I think I might blow up at him and quit one day. Find a way to ask for and receive Richard's advice even when your own fearful brain tells you "I don't need it!" Richard has something to teach you beyond "When you become a manager, don't be like Richard!"
