The 2018 CONIFA World Football Cup kicks off in London on May 31st. And as well as finance, CONIFA faces other hurdles as it attempts to put on a global soccer tournament in London for teams from places as far-flung as Tuvalu and Tibet. Munye and some friends set up the Barawa FA to raise awareness of the region and ‘create some positive noise’. But while hosting a global soccer tournament in London, where the Barawa FA is based, is infinitely easier than hosting it in south Somalia, CONIFA still faced plenty of challenges.
