Orbs are the central piece of your weapon and armor upgrades in the early stages of Dauntless before later levels start requiring more advanced items. Just hunting behemoths, however, won't yield you the Orbs you need. Each patrol will yield 10 orbs as well as anything that might fall of the behemoth you're facing. You also get two patrol chest bonuses a day, each of which is worth an extra 10 orbs. If you're trying to get your arsenal together, you're going to want to spend the majority of your time in patrol.
