It’s just guy culture: insensitive, abusive, privileged, misogynistic. Almost as depressing was working with women within the guy culture. The program cut down on accidents and became part of the organization’s culture. What really must happen to disrupt the guy culture is to have more women in key leadership roles. For teams to operate effectively, there needs to be trust and openness, and guy culture is inimical to that.
